[해외여행 정보] 괌 가든빌라호텔(Garden Villa Hotel)에서의 특이했던 추억

괌 방문 시기

 

2023년 12월 30일 한국에서 괌으로 출발해서 괌에 늦은 밤 도착 후

 

2023년 12월 31일까지 1박 2일 숙박했던 가든빌라호텔의 후기를 남겨보려고 합니다. 

 

 

호텔 세부 정보

 

주소는 < 800 Pale San Vitores Road, Tumon, Tamuning, 96913 괌>이고 

 

규정 체크인 시간은 15:00 체크아웃 시간은 다음 날 정오였습니다. 

 

최소 체크인 나이(만)는 18세입니다. 

 

예약했던 객실 유형은 Hibiscus Studio였고 금연객실로 더블침대가  2개나 있었습니다. 

 

가격 정보 

 

1박에 202,913원이었고 (세금과 수수료는 ₩22,321) 

 

제가 농협에서 나온 휴가 중 카드를 소지하고 있어서 호텔스 닷컴의 제휴 사이트에서 결제를 하니 27프로 할인을 받았습니다.

 

27프로는 무려 41637원 정도에 해당하네요.

 

그래서 실제로 제가 부담한 비용은 184651원이었습니다. 괌의 물가 수준과 호텔 가격들을 생각한다면 상당히 합리적인 비용이었습니다.  

 

이 호텔 선택 이유

 

또 다른 한편, 제가 괌의 이 가든빌라 호텔을 괌 여행의 첫 호텔로 선택한 이유는 공항에서 가까운 편이고 객실이 넓다는 점이었습니다. 

 

어차피 한국에서 비행기를 타고 괌에 도착했을 때 도착시간이 늦은 밤이라 머무는 시간이 상대적으로 적다는 점을 고려하여 가성비 좋은 숙소를 찾았던 것이죠. 

 

이 호텔의 단점 

 

그런데 막상 괌에 도착해서 이 가든빌라호텔에 들어와보니

1) 생각보다 허름했습니다. 

 

2) 침대가 푹신한 느낌이 없었습니다.

 

3) 침대 이불은 노숙자들이 사용하는 담요 같은 느낌이 나는 뭔가 깨끗해 보이지 않은 허름한 이불이었습니다. 이게 저는 좀 쇼크였습니다. 

 

4) 세면대 물이 잘 안 내려갔습니다. 막혀서 해결 요청을 하려다가 밤도 늦었고 피곤해서 그냥 포기하고 잠을 자는 것으로 결정하였습니다. 

 

5) 욕실 문도 개선이 필요했습니다.

 

6) 바퀴벌레가 나와서 저는 소리를 지르고 남편이 죽여줬습니다. 

 

7) 자는데 너무 이른 아침부터 가든빌라호텔 이름답게 야외 정원을 기계로 깎는 바람에 그 소리가 생각보다 컸습니다. 방음이 잘 안 되는 객실인 것 같습니다. 덕분에 저는 잠을 자다가 깼습니다. 더 자야 되는데 숙면은 실패했습니다. 

 

이 호텔의 장점  

 

1) 방이 꽤 컸습니다.

 

2) 더블 침대 2개라 자는 공간이 넉넉했습니다. 

 

3) 가든빌라호텔 외부 경관은 좋아 보였으며 주변에 편의시설도 있었습니다. 

 

4) 괌의 호텔 중에서 합리적인 가격을 자랑합니다. 

 

 

 

결론

제가 현재 살고 있는 11평짜리 서울의 오피스텔보다 룸컨디션이 안 좋았습니다.

 

심지어 이 가든 빌라 호텔은 별 3개짜리 3성급 호텔입니다.

 

일본에서도 별 3개짜리 호텔에서 숙박한 적이 있는데 비록 일본 호텔은 방크기는 매우 작았지만 청결 등 위생상태가 매우 좋았다는 점에서 비슷한 청결도를 상상했던 제가 불찰이었습니다.

 

괌의 3성급 호텔과 일본 3성급 호텔은 정말 다르다고 생각되네요. 

 

왜 내가 11평짜리 컨디션 좋은 서울의 오피스텔을 놔두고, 노숙자들이 덮고 잘 만한 법한 담요 이불에, 아침에 소음까지 있는 호텔을 선택해서 잠을 잤는지 스스로가 좀 한심하다고 생각되었던 기억입니다.

 

혹시 괌을 가시면 돈을 좀 아끼고 싶고 방이 좀 큰 게 좋다, 그리고 공항이랑 가까웠으면 좋겠다고 생각하시면 선택하셔도 됩니다.

 

단, 위생 등 환경을 매우 중요하다고 생각하시는 분이라면 재검토가 절대적으로 필요해 보입니다.  

 

<영어 리뷰>

 

I would like to leave a review of the Garden Villa Hotel where I stayed for 2 nights from December 30, 2023 to December 31, 2023 after departing for Guam and arriving late at night.



The address is 800 Pale San Vitores Road, Tumon, Tamuning, 96913 Guam



The stipulated check-in time was 15:00 and check-out time was noon the next day.



The minimum check-in age (in years) was 18 years old.



The room type I booked was Hibiscus Studio, which is a non-smoking room with two double beds.



The cost was KRW 202,913 per night and taxes and fees was KRW 22,321 ,



Because I have a vacation card from Nonghyup Nonghyup, I got a 27% discount when I paid on Hotels.com site.



27% is equivalent to about 41637 won.



So my actual cost was 184,651 won. Considering the cost of living and hotel prices in Guam, this was quite reasonable.



On the other hand, the reason why I chose this garden villa hotel in Guam as my first hotel for my trip to Guam was because it was close to the airport and the rooms were spacious.



I was looking for a good value for money, considering that I was flying in from Korea and arriving late at night, so my stay would be relatively short.



However, when I arrived in Guam and entered this garden villa hotel, I realized that

1) It was shabbier than I expected.

2) The bed didn't feel fluffy.

3) The bedding was a raggedy blanket that didn't look clean, like the kind of blanket that homeless people use. This was a bit of a shock to me.

4) The water in the sink was not running well. It was clogged and I was going to ask them to fix it, but it was late at night and I was tired, so I decided to just give up and get some sleep.

5) The bathroom door also needed improvement.

6) A cockroach came out and I screamed and my husband killed it.

7) While I was sleeping, there was a machine mowing the outdoor garden so early in the morning that the sound was louder than I expected. I guess the room is not soundproofed well. As a result, I woke up in the middle of the night when I should have been sleeping more.


On the plus,

1) The room was quite large.

2) There were 2 double beds, so there was plenty of space to sleep.

3) The outside of the Garden Villa Hotel looked nice and there were amenities nearby.

4) It was reasonably priced for a hotel in Guam.


In conclusion, the room was inferior to my current 11-pyeong Seoul studio

And this garden villa hotel is a three-star hotel.

I have stayed in a three-star hotel in Japan, and although the room size was very small, the hygiene was very good, so I was expecting similar cleanliness.

I guess a 3 star hotel in Guam and a 3 star hotel in Japan are completely different.

I remember thinking to myself that I was a bit pathetic for leaving my 11- pyeong studio in Seoul and sleeping in a hotel with a blanket that looked like it belonged to a homeless person, with noise in the morning.

If you're going to Guam and you want to save some money, you want a bigger room, and you want to be close to the airport, you can go for it.

However, if you're very concerned about the environment, including hygiene, then you should definitely reconsider.
